Friday the 13th of April

The Day is Sunny the Beach is Long cont.

The Calais gig was horizontal. In the sense it was laid right back. After getting a bit of burn at the beach we headed back to Babel for a sound check. Our hosts Pierre and Polo were right on time with our dinner and we devoured the pizza that was served up.
The gig filled slowly. Too slowly if you ask me, to the point we were getting the fear no one would show. But soon enough it filled up. To our pleasant surprise a young chap called Tibo also turned up. We'd bumped into him that afternoon and told him he should come along. He started messing around with one of the guitars and it only turns out he's a bloody genius. We got him to play before us and he had everyone mesmerised. Just one young chap and my acoustic guitar taking you on a journey; DADGAD baby! I've not had a chance to check out his stuff online yet but here is the link:

The Rats side of the bargain was pretty hazy from my point of view but the crack was good and the crowd was good and we all went back to a party and lived happily ever after.

Big thanks to Polo and Pierre at Babel and Julie for looking after us.
